The Degree Programme in International Business enables students to develop expertise required in global business. The main focus of the studies is on international marketing as a part of successful business. The Realistic Business Idea course helps you build a business idea with a chance of success and growth. After successful completion of the course, you will be assisted in contacting people who can help you start and launch your business.

- Personal Coaching: Students receive support for developing their business ideas through both individual and group coaching sessions.
- Business Idea Evaluation and Development: Students work on their business ideas independently and with the support of coaching meetings.
- Building a Contact Network: Students receive support from course coaches to expand their network and advance their business ideas.
- Digital Community: The aim is to develop a digital community for international aspiring entrepreneurs, providing peer support and networking opportunities.

You will cope orally with simple and routine situations, for example, introduce yourself and others, and shortly describe your own background and immediate needs. This course will simulate and take the students through a typical Finnish recruitment process.

The course includes contact teaching, group work and independent study.

Objective

Objective

Tech Fair is an intensive week in University of Jean Monnet in France. The key topics for the week are sustainability, international product launch and marketing and communication at the Tech Fair exhibition.

Content

Each international team will get a challenge regarding a technical product . Your mission will be to come up with a creative solution and display a technical product to an international audienc e during a Tech Fair. Throughout the project and the team buildings activities you will also develop you intercultural skills and grow your international network.

Location and time

Online kick-off together with the teams in September and participation in the intensive week 14-18.10.2024 of Université Jean Monnet Institut de Technologie de Saint Etienne, France.

This course provides you with an overview of how to build a successful business with an international perspective. The course covers the elements of a profitable service business, and you learn to write a business plan together with your team. You also learn to crystallise the core of your business model with the Business Model Canvas and how to present it to interested parties. As you practice crystallising the core of your business, you will know how to use appropriate business terminology.

After completing this course, you are able to design and present a business model for a successful business. You know how to write a business plan. You are also able to assess the profitability of the business and evaluate potential risks and use relevant business terms.
