Objective

You are able to communicate in various everyday situations and also in elementary working situations in Finnish. You can tell about your work and working environment and make arrangements for meetings. You are able to understand and write simple work-related messages and texts. You are able to communicate at the basic level on work related meetings.

Content

- Work related vocabulary
- Expanding everyday vocabulary (e.g. illnesses, feelings and emotions)
- Ordinal numbers and expressions of time
- Writing an e-mail
- Expanding knowledge of the grammatical structures of Finnish: past tense, object, 3. infinitive, different sentence types (e.g. verb + verb sentences), passive form

Teaching methods

The course has a 60% compulsory attendance rate, i.e. students must attend at least half of the lectures, on campus. The course includes contact teaching and independent study.

Completion alternatives
