A multidisciplinary and multi-professional approach
The study unit / the course is divided into two sections:
- A: multidisciplinary development and innovation, 2cr
- B: field-specific section; basics of the thesis, 2 cr

Teaching methods

This course consists of 2 parts.
You will complete Part A independently during the spring semester.
In Part B, you will form a thesis pair/group, brainstorm the thesis, and create an idea paper with your thesis team. Part B initiates your thesis process.

PART A.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. You can apply research and development methods.
2. You understand the methods and applicability of future research.
3. You understand key innovation methods and their significance in the social and health care and education sectors; e.g., experimental development and service design.
4. You can apply innovation methods and gain readiness to complete your thesis.

Learning Objectives:
1. You are familiar with research, development, and innovation methods and can apply them in practice during the thesis process and in professional development tasks.
2. You will specifically explore research designs and methods applicable in occupational therapy research and professional practice.
3. You will start your own thesis process.


Content:
Creating an idea paper for the thesis
Practical application of qualitative, quantitative, and functional thesis methods
Use of case studies in occupational therapy and professional development
Different types of literature reviews and evaluation of research quality
Introduction to the thesis plan (which begins concurrently with this course)
