Objective

You understand the importance of event marketing in strengthening your organization and brand. You will learn to plan and possibly carry out a variety of experience-generating events, such as trade fairs, seminars, and conferences for an organization’s target audience.

Location and time

Moodle learning environment, Wärtsilä campus and possibly the premises of a partner company.

Materials

Wallo Helena, Häyrinen Eija, Pajala Kerttu-Ilona: An event is an opportunity: event planning and implementation, 2022 and other material distributed during the course.

Teaching methods

The event marketing course focuses on applying the marketing perspectives learned to events. Event marketing, event marketing and event organization are the starting points for this course. The things learned are utilized in connection with organizing a corporate event.

The teaching method is dialogic contact teaching. In addition, the Moodle learning environment has a knowledge base that consists of a book, recordings, articles and other sources.

Employer connections

Industry collaboration is realised through the recordings and the events to be organised.

Student workload

The estimated student workload is approximately 108 hours.
