- you know the skill level required to write academic papers.
- you are able to explore the concepts of context, formality, objectivity, and summary, as well as the basics of argumentation in writing.
- you understand academic vocabulary related to your field of study and can use key suitable terms in formal writing.
- you know the key elements of academic text and paragraph structure in writing and are able to apply this knowledge to thesis writing.
- you are able to compose a formal academic report or a review by the end of the course.
- you are aware of many of the elements which will be needed in writing the thesis.

The style and language of academic reporting and thesis writing in English.
Aims:
- you know the skill level required to write academic papers
- you are able to explore the concepts of context, formality (scientific writing style), and reports, as well as the basics of argumentation and paraphrasing in writing.
- you understand academic vocabulary related to your field of study and can use key terms in formal writing
- you know the key language structures and the elements of text and paragraph structure in writing and are able to apply this knowledge in thesis writing
- you are able to compose a formal report (thesis text) or review by the end of the course and are aware of many of the elements which will be needed in writing the thesis
- you understand the importance of process writing, and are able to analyse and report about research data.

Written exam(s) or assignments during the course.
