Objective

After completing this course you will be able to:
- Analyze the content of the lectures in the context of management and development practices in social and healthcare.
- Analyze the content of the lectures particularly in relation to leadership and development within your own (current or previous) organization or workplace.

Content

Expert lectures on various management topics are organized in cooperation with Riveria and Karelia (take place 2 times per semester).

Location and time

Dates for the lectures will be announced in advance for the spring and autumn semester on the Riveria Continuing Education website. In addition, information about upcoming lectures will be added to the course's Moodle page.
The lectures are online in Microsoft Teams.

Teaching methods

From the second year onwards, you can complete your elective studies by participating in the Perspectives on Leadership lecture series training days (a total of 4) and completing a related written assignment.

The Perspectives on Leadership lecture series is organized by Karelia University of Applied Sciences and Riveria. It focuses on leadership and is suitable for everyone interested in developing working life skills, such as leaders, supervisors, individuals in planning and development roles, as well as HR personnel. There are four lectures held annually — two in the spring and two in the autumn.

The main objective of the series is to deepen your understanding of various perspectives on leadership through expert-led lectures on relevant topics.

Student workload

The course is 5 ECTS (= 135 hours), of which 16 hours are for expert lectures and 119 hours are for an independent written assignment.
