Location and time

Wärtsila Campus (Karjalankatu 3); all lectures will be carried out in February-April 2024; completion of assignments will continue until mid-May.

Teaching methods

The course introduced you to Climate policies, strategies, and carbon footprint calculations. The course analyses European cities' Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans. The studies follow the process of the Covenant of Mayors and its guidelines. These strategy analyses are followed by the Climate change adaptation strategies, where Climate Adapt Service is utilised for case examples. The course introduces you also to the GHG Protocol and its Corporate Standards for the calculation of the carbon footprint of an organisation. The course is implemented through assignments and compiling a learning diary that you may direct to the most interesting subtopics.
