Objective

The goal is that you:
- can describe the philosophical starting points of research and development
- can explain the key concepts of research
- can tell the different stages of the research and development process
- can describe the methods of research and development and apply them in your own thesis process

Content

Contents:
- introduction to research methods
- quantitative and qualitative research methods and research thesis
- development work process and methods as well as functional thesis
- ethics and reliability

Itsenäisesti suoritettava opintojakso verkossa. (Moodle)

Teaching methods

Keskeiset sisältöalueet:

- määrälliset ja laadulliset tutkimusmenetelmät ja toiminnalliset kehittämistyön menetelmät
- kytkentä opinnäytetyöhön (tutkimuksellinen ja toiminnallinen opinnäytetyö)

Tavoitteena on, että opiskelijana:

- ymmärrät tutkimus- ja kehittämistyön tieteenfilosofiset lähtökohdat
- ymmärrät tutkimustyön keskeiset käsitteet
- osaat tutkimus- ja kehittämistyön prosessin eri vaiheet ja menetelmät

Opintojakson suorittaminen ja arviointi:

Opintojakso suoritettaan verkkototeutuksena (yksilösuoritus). Laajuus on 2 op, mikä tarkoittaa 54 h itsenäistä työtä. Opintojakso sisältää teoriaa ja tehtäviä. Lopuksi tentti.
