Objective

This course will give you the basic precision engineering principles and state-of-the-art concepts for designing higher precision and accuracy into products and processes, whether they are ultra precision or otherwise. You understand what factors affect the quality of mass produced dimensionally accurate products. You are able to use the methods of mathematical statistics in, for example, measuring and quality engineering.Kurssin opetuskieli on suomi mikäli kurssilla ei ole vaihto-opiskelijoita

Content

Importance of precision engineering (tarkkuusvalmistuksen merkitys koneenrakennuksessa)Principles of precision machine design: Principles and techniques for the design of precision machines. (Tarkkojen työstökoneiden rakenne)An introduction to precision and ultra precision machining processes. (Tarkkuustyöstömenetelmien esittely)Tolerance Technology, definitions of tolerance and tolerance chains, impact of specifying tolerances on manufacturing, manufacturing strategies (Toleranssiteoriaa, toleranssiketjut, valmistuksessa saavutettavat toleranssit)Introduction to tolerance analysis software (CETOL) (Toleranssianalyysin perusteet, CETOL-ohjemiston perusteet)Introduction to design of experiments (DOE) (Koesuunnittelun perusteita)
