Objective

The student will gain some knowledge regarding techniques and systems for measurement and instrumentation, and consequently the ability to understand and sketch principles for measurement applications.

Methods of completion

From 1.8.2025: Contact teaching. Lectures (24 h), exercises (60 h), literature, excursion and examination (49 h). Until 31.7.2025: Lectures (24 h), exercises (46 h), literature, excursion and examination (58 h).

Methods of completion

0-5. Evaluation is based on the examination (75%) and weekly exercises (25%).

Content

Essentials: Measurements of volume, mass and moisture content. Instrumentation and signal processing. Spectroscopy, acoustics, thermography. Complementary knowledge: Calorimetry. Polarized light. Special knowledge: Phase retardation, diffraction.

Exam schedules

The course exams are scheduled during the course. In addition to the course exams there are available School´s re-sitting examinations in spring semester 2025. Registration for the re-sitting examinations through Peppi's Exams no later than 10 days before the exam.
