Objective
This study unit is taught in Finnish. The translation has not been updated after 4 February 2025. Please change the language to Finnish in Peppi and read the description in Finnish. The student revises and practices the basic structures and vocabulary of Swedish. The objective is that after the course the student is better prepared to pass their degree course in Swedish. The skill level aimed at is the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) skill level B1.

Methods of completion
Study methods Participating in teaching, completing exercises, assignments and a possible final exam. A maximum of 36 hours of contact teaching (mandatory attendance 65%). Contact teaching includes work guided by the teacher, spoken and written pair and group work exercises and independent study. Contact teaching may take place on campus and/or online. Independent study approximately 45 hours. Students must attend the first meeting where course-specific practical arrangements are discussed Participating in the final exam requires fulfilling the attendance requirements and the completion of course assignments within the specified schedule. The course is considered interrupted if the student has not fulfilled the attendance requirements or not returned the assignments within the specified schedule. In this case, the course must be taken completely again. Evaluation criteria Final exam and/or continuous evaluation. Specific evaluation criteria are discussed at the beginning of the course. Completing the course requires active participation in teaching and exercises, completing course assignments and passing the possible final exam.
Content
The course includes various vocabulary, structure, reading and listening comprehension and communication exercises.
