Content scheduling
The course consists of modules that open in a given order. Students have to finish one module before starting next one.
Objective
Student: is able to define and analyse the concepts of value-based thinking, patient-centeredness and effectiveness in radiography work understands value-based radiography in a social context is able to interpret and compare the effectiveness and benefits of different imaging modalities based on evidence is able to compare ethical perspectives related to economic efficiency, quality and patient centricity

Introduction to value-based thinking in healthcare and its significance in radiography Patient-centeredness and shared decision-making Decision-making in the work of radiographers evidence-based radiography Effectiveness and cost-effectiveness in radiography Workflow and efficiency in diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy Ethics in value-based radiography work

All the literature can be found in Moodle.
Teaching methods
Value-based radiography course is completed as online-course. Lecture recording are in Finnish. The course includes articles in English. Assignments are to be done in Finnish. The course consists of: lecture recordings tasks done independently
Employer connections
This course doesn´t include clinical practice nor collaboration with working life.
Exam schedules
The deadline for assingments is 21st December 2025. If the assignments aren´t returned on the due date the students won´t be give any additional time. Students can´t return assignments by e-mail.

Student workload
The course is 5 ECTS which equals 135 hours of work. The student's workload is divided between lecture recordings, reading research articles and writing assignments.
