Objective

The objective of this part of practical training is to make you familiar with the future tasks of an engineer, to familiarize you with the stakeholder groups and apply the studied skills in practice. You learn how to work as a member of the work organization independently and with responsibility. You learn the skills and knowledge demanded in your field and use the appropriate working methods in a professional manner. You find new learning goals through practical experience. It is recommended that the practical training and thesis support each other as a whole.

Content

Before the practical training:

The student attends the information session organized by the supervisor. The student acquires the practical placement independently and makes the practical plan and contract with the employer.

During the training:

The student actively attends the working tasks planned together with the employer. The student organizes two development discussions. The student writes a report and and a diary about the training.

Location and time

Opiskelijan hankkimassa harjoittelupaikassa, joka voi olla yritys tai yhteisö Suomessa tai ulkomailla.

Materials

Harjoittelun ohjeet on Moodlessa, sinne palautetaan raportti ja työpäiväkirja harjoittelun päätyttyä.

Teaching methods

Insinööriharjoittelun tavoitteena on harjaantua insinöörin tuleviin työtehtävin, tutustua
sidosryhmiin ja soveltaa opittuja asioita käytäntöön. Harjoittelussa opitaan työskentelemään
työorganisaation jäsenenä vastuullisesti ja itsenäisesti. Harjoittelussa opitaan omalla alalla
vaadittavia tietoja ja taitoja sekä ammatillisesti oikeita työmenetelmiä. Harjoittelu vahvistaa
ammatillista osaamista ja harjoittelija tunnistaa oman alansa työ- ja uramahdollisuudet.

Harjoittelu on kokonaan työelässä suoritettava opintojakso.

International connections

Harjoittelun voi tehdä ulkomailla.

Student workload

Harjoittelun laajuus on 10 op:ttä, joka tarkoittaa 270 työtuntia. Jos työpäivän pituus on kahdeksan tuntia, niin harjoittelun kesto on 34 työpäivää.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Harjoittelu on hyväksytty, kun opiskelija toimittaa harjoittelunojaajalle allekirjoitetun
- harjoittelusopimuksen
- harjoitteluraportin ja
- työpäiväkirjan sekä kehityskeskustelumuistiot (alku- ja loppukeskustelu)
Lisäksi harjoittelija osallistuu harjoitteluseminaariin, jossa kertoo lyhyesti omasta
harjoittelustaan ja esittelee harjoittelupaikkansa seuraavan vuoden opiskelijoille.
