Objective

The student is able to manage well in English in working life also in more demanding spoken and written working life situations. S/he is able to operate in project work in English and is able to operate in meetings, knows the meeting terminology and phrases in English and is able to describe a technical process both orally and in writing. The student is able to read more demanding academic literature in his/her field and is able to make a summary of a technical text. S/he is able to function as a representative at a trade fair.

- spoken and written situations at work, project terminology, documents and project-related spoken situations and presentations, various types of meetings and negotiations and related terms and phrases, process description, technical and academic writing, abstract/summary

Teaching methods

This course will give you the skills to cope in working life in English, both orally and in writing, including in more demanding language situations. You will learn project management vocabulary and how to work on projects in English. You will learn English meeting vocabulary and phrases and meeting practices. You will learn how to work at trade fairs in English and how to act as a trade fair presenter. You will also learn how to describe the technical process orally and in writing and how to read more demanding texts. You will also learn how to summarise a technical text you have read and learn about academic writing.
