Objective

Upon completion of this course, you will understand the basic concepts of statics and strength of materials. You will be able to perform equilibrium analysis of structures and solve stress distributions for statically imposed rod structures. You will also be able to perform stress calculations for simple structures.

Content

The course includes:
- basic concepts of statics and strength of materials
- force system combination and equilibrium analysis.
- fundamentals of rigid body mechanics
- beam stresses: 1-hole and cantilever beams
- normal, shear and bending stresses
