Objective

The aim of the course is to help you understand the importance of good communication and effective interaction in successful leadership. You will learn about the factors influencing a leader’s communication and interaction from both the employee’s and the work community’s perspectives. You will learn how a leader can make their team succeed and become enthusiastic about their work. You will also learn to identify your own strengths and areas for improvement in your communication and interaction skills.”

Content

Themes covered in the course:
- Encounters at the workplace: What is a superior who communicates well? How should a supervisor act and behave in different interaction situations?
- Appreciation and trust in the work community: appreciative leadership, promotion of cooperation, fairness
- A good feedback culture as a success factor for the work community
- The supervisor solves challenging situations in the work community

Teaching methods

The study course includes online lessons, digital learning materials, independent study and writing four essay-type texts. The course is suitable for e.g. students who aim for supervisory and management positions in the future or for e.g. those who do managerial work to support the development of their own competence.
