Objective

Student
can use general technical English and have a basic knowledge of the vocabulary of their field. They understand the need for English in the workplace and can communicate about themselves and their studies in the context of job applications in English. They can cope with the most common everyday oral language situations and can present a technical product, service or simple process in their field. They can communicate appropriately in customer service situations, both orally and in writing, and can prepare and present oral presentations and outline the principles of short reports in English. They are able to interpret texts in their field with the aid of tools.

Content

-telling about studies and oneself, expressing opinions, small talk, communication style and register, basic vocabulary: materials, shapes, measurements, units, products, services, basic vocabulary in building services engineering, presentation skills, customer service situations, telephoning and e-mail, job application process, documents and interview, basics of intercultural communication, basics of reporting
