Objective

The student knows basic rules of grammar and generalvocabulary . He/She is able to write short texts in English.The student is able to participate in compulsory language courses in the university of applied sciences.

Content

English grammar: verb tenses, articles, prepositions, conjunctions, comparison of adjectivesessential communication situationsgeneral vocabulary

Location and time

The course is implemented as an online course three times per academic year.
The link and access key to Moodle will be emailed to students before the beginning of the course.
Assessment as defined in the Degree Regulations of Karelia UAS.
Students must enroll in Moodle within one week from the starting date. Starting the course after this is not possible.

Student workload

The extent of the course is 3 ECTS which requires 80 hours of student's work. We recommend starting the course as soon as the course environment is available and booking the time for study in your calendar. There are no lectures in this course.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The course proceeds one assignment at a time. Each assignment must be passed in order to access the next one. After completing the final assignment and the giving the course feedback, the student has passed the course.
