Objective

You are able to run FEM analysis, to understand the results of the analysis, as well as are able to develop the structure based on the results.

Content

- Element method in general
- The structure and operation of a typical FEM software
- Common element types
- Modeling of boundary conditions and forces
- Meshing, combining different element types
- Analysing the results

Materials

E-learning material in Moodle.

Teaching methods

The course focuses on strength calculation and optimization of structures using Creo software as part of the product design process.
The course consists of the following sections
- static analysis of the volume, shell and beam models
- static analysis of assemblies and joints
- static analysis of the mechanisms
- buckling analysis
- fatigue and dynamic analysis
- optimization of the structure
- heat transfer analysis
- evaluation of the reliability calculation
