Objective
The INVEST in You! course helps you build essential skills for an international and fast-changing work environment. After completing the course, you are able to collaborate effectively in multicultural settings,  to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment (future foresight). You understand the importance of sustainability in your studies and career path, and you know how to make use of the internationalisation opportunities offered by the INVEST alliance.
                    
Content
INVEST in You! is a self-paced online course conducted in English. The course helps you develop essential skills related to the future of work, internationalisation, and sustainability. You’ll gain practical insights and examples from the perspective of the INVEST alliance, supporting your international journey already during your studies. The course materials include for example online texts, videos, podcasts, and assignments that help you apply the skills in practice.
The online course includes five themes: multicultural teamwork and communication, transferable skills, sustainable development from studies to future career, shaping your future, and introduction to INVEST.
                    
Location and time
The course will be completed independently online (INVEST Moodle) in English.
                    
Materials
All learning materials are available in the course's learning environment (INVEST Moodle), which students will gain access to after the registration period has ended.

Students will be selected for the course in the order of registration.
In the INVEST in You! course, you’ll learn key skills for succeeding in the future of work, which is increasingly international, fast-changing, and aligned with sustainable development goals. The course supports your ability to thrive in multicultural and dynamic environments.
You’ll receive practical information and examples from the INVEST alliance perspective to help you begin your international journey during your studies.
By completing this course, you will:
- Be able to collaborate effectively in multicultural teams.
- Adapt to the rapidly evolving working life.
- Understand the role of sustainable development in your studies and career planning.
- Utilize opportunities provided by the INVEST alliance to support your internationalization.
The course includes five thematic modules:
Introduction to the INVEST alliance
Multicultural teamwork and communication
Soft skills and interpersonal development
Sustainable development: From studies to career
Shaping your future in the context of global megatrends
This asynchronous online course is conducted in English and includes videos, podcasts, and assignments to help you apply your skills in practice. It is suitable for bachelor’s and master’s level students with at least B1 level English proficiency.
                    
Employer connections
The course materials have been created in collaboration with industry experts (companies and public organizations), and one of the main goals of the course is to support students' employment and career paths.
                    
Exam schedules
There is no exam in the course; instead, completing the course requires understanding the provided study materials and successfully completing all independent assignments according to the schedule.
                    
International connections
The course has been developed in collaboration with the European University alliance INVEST, of which Karelia University of Applied Sciences is a member.
                    
Student workload
2 ECTS credits correspond to approximately 54 hours of student workload. The course content is divided into five thematic modules, each requiring an average of 8–10 hours of study.
                    
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
This course is graded on a pass/fail basis. To pass the course, the student must:
Study all required content and submit all assignments on time
Score at least 50% in the multiple-choice tests
In other assignments, demonstrate:
a) familiarity with the subject matter, and
b) the ability to apply it in practice
To complete the course, the student needs to learn all the course materials and finish all the compulsory assignments.
