Objective

After completing the study module "Geronomist in a Changing Society", you will be able to:

Describe the social and healthcare system as well as the social security system
Describe work that promotes the well-being of older adults
Explain the key services, supports, and benefits available to the elderly
Describe the RAI assessment tools, the RAI evaluation process, and the principles of sustainable development
Explain the geronomist’s work in the public, private, and third sectors

Content

As a geronomist, your professional competence includes understanding services, financial support, and benefits for the elderly in a constantly changing society. You will learn about the social and healthcare system as well as social security, and gain insight into work that promotes well-being in municipalities, the third sector, and the fourth sector. You will receive more information about the geronomist’s work across different sectors and learn about the geronomist’s role in various workplaces. You will learn the foundations of RAI assessment and its connection to service needs evaluation. Sustainable development is integrated into the geronomist’s approach to work.

The social security system from the perspective of the elderly
Work promoting the well-being of the elderly in municipalities, the third and fourth sectors
