Tavoitteet
After completion of the course, learners will be able to:
- Critically evaluate and apply sustainable strategies that incorporate innovative and environmentally responsible practices to mitigate the impacts of climate change in health and social care contexts.
- Design and implement resilience-building plans that address complex, climate-related challenges at the individual, organizational, and community levels.
- Apply inclusive leadership principles comprehensively, considering people, operations, and organizational culture, to promote equity and sustainability.
- Lead and facilitate participatory processes to co-create evidence-based solutions and sustainable operational models in multidisciplinary environments.
- Integrate theoretical knowledge with practical approaches to develop context-sensitive responses that support climate adaptation in professional practice.

Opetusmenetelmät
The course consists of two parts: the first part is delivered as virtual studies, online orientation is 6.10.2025, and the second part takes place as an intensive week at Karelia University of Applied Sciences in Joensuu, Finland.
The first, virtual part of the course will be completed before the intensive week, from 6.10. to 31.10.2025
The second part, intensive week, will take place in autumnal Finland at Karelia University of Applied Sciences. The intensive week runs from Monday to Friday, 3–7.11.2025. Each day includes approximately six hours of study. The studies are carried out collaboratively under the guidance of teachers.

The course is worth 5 ECTS credits, which equals 135 hours of student work.

Successful completion of the course requires:
Completing Virtual Section on time

- the self-assessment test
Active participation in the intensive week
