Objective

After completing the course, you will be able to:

Understand the structure and functioning of the service system.
Identify the roles and responsibilities of different actors (wellbeing services county, municipality, NGOs, Kela, Regional State Administrative Agency, Valvira).
Recognize the social services and service needs defined by the Social Welfare Act.
Understand the significance of a service-oriented working approach (organization + client).

Content

During the course, you will explore the social and healthcare service system.
You will deepen your understanding of wellbeing services counties and their responsibilities. You will gain knowledge about the role of Kela and the Finnish social security system, and become familiar with the supervision of social and healthcare services. In addition, you will learn about the activities of social and healthcare NGOs and the role of municipalities in promoting the wellbeing of residents.

In addition to service system competence, the course covers
services defined in the Social Welfare Act, the main phases of the client process, and the principles of a service-oriented working approach.
