Objective

The course is intended for students whose mother tongue is not Finnish. The language level of the course is A2.2. The course is an independent online course. This course replaces an earlier course called Finnish for Students

After completing the course, you will be able to
- tell about yourself and your everyday life
- use the Finnish language in customer service situations
- find the main points in short texts and in simple speech
- write short texts
- can distinguish between written and spoken language.

Content

The course focuses on everyday communication situations, such as talking about yourself, expressing time, handling errands, and understanding news. You will learn key vocabulary, phrases, features of spoken language, and basic (YKI 2) grammar.

- Everyday communication situations: telling about yourself, expressing your time, various customer service situations, understanding news
- Vocabulary and phrases used in communication situations
- Features and vocabulary of colloquial language
- Grammar at basic level (UNIC 2).

The course is intended for students whose mother tongue is not Finnish. The language level of the course is A2.2. The course is an independent online course. You will get feedback and a grade at the end of the course.

The course is an independent online course. You will complete all assignments independently and return them to Moodle by the deadline.
