Objective

You will learn about the principles of sustainable business and its various aspects: ecological, social and economic responsibility. You understand the ethical and moral value choices associated with business and society and know how to look at the world from different perspectives. You understand your own role as a responsible actor in different contexts.

Content

Ethical and moral perspectives in business: Morality, values, and the basis of existence.
Corporate ecological, social and economic responsibility.
A responsibility report is made for the course, which becomes part of the business plan for the course.

Material to be distributed during the course and book recommendations.

Teaching methods

In the course, you will learn about the principles of sustainable business and its different areas: ecological, social, cultural and economic responsibility. You will learn to identify ethical and moral value choices related to business and societal activities and to assess their effects on the operations of companies and communities. You will practice examining business development from different perspectives of sustainability and will understand your own role as a responsible actor in various working life contexts.

Teaching methods:

- Lectures and expert sessions: we will familiarize ourselves with the key concepts, principles and current phenomena of sustainable business.
- Discussions and group work: we will analyze case studies, share perspectives and practice argumentation and critical reflection.
- Project work / case exercises: we will plan and develop a small-scale solution or development proposal that promotes sustainable business in a selected organization or industry.
- Reflection: writing learning tasks that reflect on one's own thinking, values, and responsible agency in relation to working life.
