Content scheduling

You can find a more detailed periodization of the content in the schedule of the course in Moodle. The teacher presents the schedule in the first contact lesson. In the timetable, you can find the deadlines for submitting assignments, word tests, written and oral exams.

Objective

You are able to tell about yourself, the studies, the work and working environment. You become familiar with North European companies in your branch. You have a sufficient professional vocabulary and can represent the company and its products and services f. ex. at fairs and are able to create necessary written documents. You are able to follow the flow of information and take a benefit of it.

Content

Presentation of the own company and its products. Good knowledge of the structures of Swedish language. Familiarization with Nordic companies of the own branch. Fairs. Materials in construction engineering. Writing a report / marketing material / press release.

Teaching methods

This course deepens your knowledge of the Swedish vocabulary of the construction industry. During the course, you will use many Swedish-language construction materials in oral and written exercises. You will get to know Swedish/Nordic construction companies and learn how to present the company and its products and services, for example, at trade fairs. You will learn to form command forms and learn to understand and use passive and participle forms.

- Basic vocabulary of building construction
- articles on the construction industry in various media
- small talk
- Understanding and drafting construction industry guidelines
- company visit and company presentation
- Imperative
- s-passive
- the present tense of the participle and the perfect participle tense

Contact teaching, independent work, pair and group work

Exam dates:

Make sure that you have completed all the exercises that need to be returned before the exams. You can find the schedules in the course schedule

You can find the times of the exams in the group-specific schedule of the course. The teacher presents the schedule at the first meeting. You can also find the test area and schedule of the written exam in Moodle in the section Written exam and the oral exam schedule under Oral exam. The written exam is taken before the oral exam.

Retaking exams

If you do not pass your exam, you can retake the exam twice as soon as possible after retaking the course. The written exam is repeated in the Exam exam aquarium. The retake of the oral exam is agreed upon with the teacher.

Completion alternatives

If you have completed a corresponding course earlier, you can start the course by completing the written exam of the course in the Exam exam aquarium.

When you have successfully completed both the Social Contacts and Swedish for Mechanical Engineering courses, you will receive a note in Peppi for passing the oral and written Swedish for civil servants.

If your grade is 1-3, then the assessment is satisfactory skills (2)
