Objective

You know the operating principles and technologies of different kind of power plants. You are able to understand the overall efficiency of a power plant. You are familiar with Combined Heat and Power (CHP) technologies and you are able to assess the technical and economic viability of CHP systems in different size classes. You know the basic information needed for the design and sizing of power plants and CHP systems, as well as the aspects related to their safe operation.

Content

- Steam power plants
- Gas turbine power plants
- Combined cycle power plants
- Engine power plants
- CHP technologies in different size classes
- Hydro and nuclear power plants
- Technical-economic and safe operation of power plants and CHP plants, as well as their sizing and design criterias

Teaching methods
