Objective

You understand the principles of nursing care for a critically ill patient based on legislation, values and ethical principles.
You understand pathophysiological processes related to critical illness.
You understand the treatment path of a critically ill patient.
You recognize serious disorders of vital functions.
You understand the importance of a multiprofessional team in critical care practice.
You know the some of the basic equipment used in critical care nursing.

Content

Basics of nursing care for critically ill patients
Basic critical care nursing in intensive care units and surveillance wards.
Nursing practice of a patient with respiratory failure
Nursing practice of a patient with circulatory failure
Nursing practice of a patient with consciousness disorders.

Continuously open online.

Materials

Moodle's material, includes the online lectures of an emergency physician on the Claned platform. Additional material suggestions in Moodle.

Teaching methods

The online course includes Moodle content, online lectures and midterm tests. A study course to be completed independently.
