Teaching methods

This course covers responsible tourism and effective communication. Despite growing interest, information on responsible tourism services is limited, and entrepreneurs struggle to make it appealing to consumers. This course provides information on responsible and sustainable practices in the tourism sector.

Learning outcomes:
• Understand responsible choices to inform customers.
• Learn about responsible communication in tourism generally.
• Identify the components of responsible communication within the tourism sector.
• Recognize whitewashing and greenwashing in tourism communications.

• CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Communication
• Responsible Communication in Rural Tourism
• Cultural Sustainable Communication

Completion alternatives

The student who has acquired the required competence in business communication in English non- or informally can complete the course through RPL Proof of Competence. The possibility and methods of demonstrating written and spoken communication skills must be agreed with the teacher before the beginning of the study unit.

Student workload

The course contains appriximately 10 hours of scheduled sessions online. The weekly sessions are complemented with self-study assignments and some pair and group work.
