Objective
You know how to use the most common measuring instruments in the mechanical engineering industry (caliper and micrometer) and understand the factors related to their measurement uncertainty. You are able to make measurement uncertainty calculations for hand-held measuring instruments. You are able to measure basic measurements with an arm and coordinate measuring machine and know the possibilities of using the methods in industrial production.
Content
- Measurement concepts and standards
- Measurement of length, angle, and surface roughness
- Measurement of geometrical tolerances with a measuring machine
- Uncertainty of measurement
