Objective

Main learning outcomes
• The student can identify and analyse forest ecosystem services in current and future conditions
• The student can identify and foresee current and future needs of society in relation to forest use
• The student can apply participatory planning methods in resolving conflicting objectives
• The student can communicate and negotiate with stakeholders to implement forestry activities
• The student is able to participate in the professional and public discussion about forest use

Content

This educational unit is about current and future forest use and management based on the changing demands of society. During the course you will face the challenges of increasing involvement of various stakeholders and interest groups on forest ecosystem services. To resolve this participatory planning methods are needed to straighten out conflicting objectives.
