Content

In this course, we will get acquainted with the current state of visual content design and assess the future challenges. We'll familiarize ourselves with some of the key works in the field and other current sources.

The main topic to be studied is information visualisation (Information graphics, infographics). We will define what information visualisation means, what information visualisation can achieve and what kind of expertise is involved with it.

With the help of visual assignments, we outline the possibilities of visualising different data contents. We will learn how to create appropriate visualizations from a variety of source materials and master the visualisation capabilities of some software tools (including Excel, Google Docs, Adobe Illustrator). Other learning fields included are UI-design and logo and icon design.

The latest visualization material and case examples are used as starting points for the study. In the beginning, we will begin to familiarize us to the theme by taking tasks as pairs. Competences are further developed and verified with personal visualization tasks later on a course.
