Location and time
The Hygiene Passport test will be held on Monday 17 April 2024 at 9:00 a.m., Wärtsilä campus, Karjalankatu 3, A-house class 100, Auditorium
Possible retest will be held on Monday 29 April 2024 at 15:00 p.m., Wärtsilä campus, Karjalankatu 3, building D class 116, second floor
The maximum duration of the test is 45 minutes, you can leave the test no earlier than 20 minutes after the start of the test.
The certificate is valid until further notice.

Teaching methods
The course can accommodate a maximum of 25 students
The student studies the test materials independently using the materials indicated in the section.
The Hygiene Passport test tests are held on the Wärtsilä campus of Karelia University of Applied Sciences.
Hygiene expertise in the food sector is stipulated in the food legislation. A person working in the food industry must master the basics of the food industry and know how to handle food safely. The purpose of the hygiene passport is to promote food safety in the sector.
If the employee works in a food premises (e.g. cafe, restaurant, fast food restaurant, commercial kitchen, food store, bakery or food manufacturing factory) and handles unpackaged perishable food (e.g. milk, meat, fish), he needs a hygiene pass.

Bring a blue ballpoint pen and ID card with you to the test.
If the hygiene test is not passed the first time, it can be repeated on the day of the re-inspection.
Student workload
1.5 credits is equivalent to 40 hours of student work.

Pay the hygiene pass fee via the payment link you received at least two (2) days before coming to the test.
Bring an identity card and a ballpoint pen (blue) to the test
The following are accepted as identity documents:
- Finnish time card, passport, driving or moped license and Kela-card with a picture
- foreign identity card and passport
- foreigner's passport (only accepted if the foreigner's passport does not have an indication that the document holder's dishonesty could not be reliably established)
- the refugee's travel document (accepted only if the refugee's travel document does not contain an indication that the identity of the document could not be reliably established)
- a document issued by the authority (police/border guard), with a copy of the passport, the authority's stamp and a mention that the passport is in the authority's possession for the time being. This document can be used temporarily to prove identity.
- Residence permit card or residence card issued by the Immigration Office to refugees, asylum seekers or other immigrants
You have a maximum of 45 minutes to complete the test. You may leave the test no earlier than 20 minutes after the start of the test.
The test is done completely independently. You may not use aids, look at answers from others, or talk to others during the test. If the instructions are not followed, it is grounds for rejecting the test and removing the subject from the test space.
You are not allowed to take photos during the test

Assessment methods and criteria
The test is evaluated according to the instructions of the Finnish Food Authority.
Assessment accepted - rejected
The test is passed when the test taker gets at least 34 out of 40 points correctly.
After passing the test, you will receive a hygiene passport certificate and a card.
