Objective
The course is intended for students whose mother tongue is not Finnish. The language level of the course is B1.
You will be introduced to the Finnish media (newspapers, online magazines, TV and radio programmes) and ,in particular, to texts and programmes in your field of study. You will learn written language structures and get to know general spoken language. You will learn vocabulary in your field.
Objectives: You will be able to search for texts related to your field. You will be able to understand a variety of factual texts, expand your professional vocabulary and strengthen your textual skills.
Content
You will independently watch programmes and read articles and complete the following tasks:
- opinion piece
- summary
- report
- media diary
- oral presentation

Course starts 3.6.2025 and ends 31.7.2024.
Teaching methods
Opintojakso on tarkoitettu suomea toisena kielenä opiskeleville. Kielitaitotaso opintojaksolla on B1. Tutustut suomenkieliseen mediaan (lehtiin, verkkolehtiin ja tv- ja radio-ohjelmiin) ja erityisesti oman alan teksteihin ja ohjelmiin. Opit kirjoitetun kielen rakenteita ja yleispuhekieltä. Opit oman alan sanavarastoa.
