Objective
The goal of the course is to understand the importance of good communication and effective interaction in successful supervisory and management work. In the course, you will get information about the factors affecting the supervisor's interaction and communication, both from the perspective of the employee and the work community. In the course, you will get information about how a manager can make his team succeed and get excited about their work.
Content
Themes covered in the course:
- Encounters at the workplace: What is a superior who communicates well? How should a supervisor act and behave in different interaction situations?
- Appreciation and trust in the work community: appreciative leadership, promotion of cooperation, fairness
- A good feedback culture as a success factor for the work community
- The supervisor solves challenging situations in the work community
Teaching methods
The goal of the course is to understand the importance of good communication and effective interaction in successful supervisory and management work. In the course, you will get information about the factors affecting the supervisor's interaction and communication, both from the perspective of the employee and the work community. In the course, you will get information about how a manager can make his team succeed and get excited about their work.
Themes covered in the course:
- Encounters at the workplace: What is a superior who communicates well? How should a supervisor act and behave in different interaction situations?
- Leading person and effective interaction in the work community: appreciative management, promotion of cooperation, fairness
- Supervisor and a good feedback culture: the benefits and obstacles of feedback, how to give feedback in the work community.
- Supervisor and challenging situations in the work community: how the supervisor resolves problem and conflict situations.
The course contains digital teaching material and source material, which the student can use to study independently. The student prepares four essay-type texts, for which he receives written feedback from the teacher.
The course is suitable for e.g. students who aim for supervisory and management positions in the future or for e.g. those who do managerial work to help develop their own skills.
