Objective

Opiskelija suoriutuu reaalilukujen peruslaskutoimituksista, erityisesti prosenttilaskentaan keskittyen. Opiskelija ratkaisee sekä sanallisia että numeerisia matemaattisia ongelmia ja yhtälöitä. Opiskelija on perehtynyt tilastomatematiikan perusteisiin ja osaa määritellä tyypillisimmät tilastolliset tunnusluvut.

Content

Opintojaksolla kerrataan ja syvennetään matematiikan peruskäsitteitä prosenttilaskennasta, yhtälöistä ja tilastomatematiikasta. Opintojakson aikana perehdytään sekä Excelin tehokkaaseen käyttöön matematiikassa kehittämiseen.

Teaching methods

Preparatory studies in mathematics focus on improving basic mathematical skills. The aim of the course is to prepare students for the mathematical challenges needed for university studies. In addition, the course aims to prepare students for the mathematical component of the entrance examinations for polytechnics.
The course includes lectures and computational exercises

Student workload

Lectures 33 h, independent study 40 h, independent acquisition of material 10 h, exam 3 h and feedback 3 h.
