Objective

After completing this course you will be able to:
- Search for and process the best possible information, analyzing it within the work community, in the development of well-being and health, and in the management of customer-oriented activities.
- Apply information about the effects and opportunities of internationalization, anticipating future trends in your own professional field.
- Apply information about the effects of the political-administrative control system on practical activities and to adapt the activities of the unit you are managing to changing requirements (Social and health care legislation).
- Understand the principles of financially profitable operations in management.
- Evaluate and compare productized services provided by social and health entrepreneurs.
- Lead the organization of welfare services in sparsely populated areas.

- Knowledge in customer-oriented management of work community competence, operations and well-being
- Internationalization development and global perspective in social and health services
- Social and health care legislation and political-administrative control system in relation to unit operations
- Financially profitable operations in management
- Management of welfare services in sparsely populated areas
- Entrepreneurship in the social and health sector as part of the social and healthcare service system

Teaching methods

The aims and content of the course are further specified.

At present, the aim is to:

- You can search for and process the best possible information in the work community, in the development of well-being and health, and in the management of customer-oriented activities.

- You can apply information about the effects and opportunities of internationalization anticipating the future in your own field - You will learn to compare the production production structures, processes and resources of Finland and other EU countries in the social and health care sector

- You are able to take into account and apply information about the effects of the political-administrative control system (state and municipality) on practical activities and to adapt the activities of the unit you are managing to changing requirements (Social and health care legislation)

- You understand the principles of financially profitable operations in management

- You can evaluate and compare the cost-effectiveness of productized services provided by social and health entrepreneurs

- You are able to manage the organization of welfare services in sparsely populated areas.

The content follows the goals

Student workload

The course is a total of 5 x 27 = 135 hours, of which the majority of independent work includes lectures of the teacher and two seminar days.
