Objective

You understand the client / patient and their loved ones as an expert and actor in their own lives.
You recognize the ethical issues of mental health and substance abuse work and understand the key legislation that governs mental health and substance abuse work.
You apply the principles of professional and therapeutic interaction in mental health and substance abuse nursing.
You know how to assess the needs of the client / patient's loved ones and apply control methods based on resources.
You know how to support someone in an acute crisis.
You know how to use the key interventions of mental health and substance abuse treatment and early intervention.
You understand the importance of your own personality in mental health and substance abuse work and know how to have support for professional development.
You understand the principles of the Avekki and
prepare to prevent and manage threatening and violent situations.
You familiarize yourself with the Let´s talk about Children method and practice using it.
