Objective
The course is intended for students whose mother tongue is not Finnish. The language level of the course is B1.
You will be introduced to the Finnish media (newspapers, online magazines, TV and radio programmes) and ,in particular, to texts and programmes in your field of study. You will learn written language structures and get to know general spoken language. You will learn vocabulary in your field.
Objectives: You will be able to search for texts related to your field. You will be able to understand a variety of factual texts, expand your professional vocabulary and strengthen your textual skills.
Content
You will independently watch programmes and read articles and complete the following tasks:
- opinion piece
- summary
- report
- media diary
- oral presentation
Location and time
The course starts 5.2.2024 and ends 24.5.2024.
Teaching methods
The course is an online course. You will work independently in Moodle. You will get feedback and a grade at the end of the course.
