Objective

• The student understands the impacts of climate change on forests and forestry
• The student can foresee future threats, such as increased risk of abiotic and biotic damages to forests
• The student understands how to increase the forest resilience to changing conditions
• The student is capable to plan forest operations applicable in changing conditions
Content
This study unit is about current trends and changes in the environment affecting forestry. Climate warming induced increased risk of natural hazards and challenges. Adapting forests and forest operations to climate change, including tree species selection, increasing forest resilience and non-active management. Solving real life use cases in living lab co-operation.
