Course Overview:
Equips you with the skills and knowledge necessary to make strategic financial decisions within an organization. Building on the foundational concepts from previous financial courses, you get to know deeper the elements of financial planning, investment analysis, and business control mechanisms. The course emphasizes the integration of financial strategies with overall business objectives, ensuring you to contribute effectively to their organization’s financial health and strategic goals.
Main Learning goals:
Understand and apply strategic financial planning in both short-term and long-term contexts.
Analyze and interpret financial statements to inform decision-making.
Evaluate investment opportunities and learn the methods to manage investment projects.
Comprehend the use of Balanced Scorecard key elements for performance measurement and strategic management.
Identify and secure funding sources for investments, tailored to the needs of small/medium-sized enterprises and large corporations.
Understand the roles and responsibilities of financial managers within an organization

Your grade will consist of the following parts:

Assessment criteria, fail (0)

Grade 0 (failing):
Exam: Shows no understanding of the concepts. Answers are incorrect or missing.
Individual Assignments and Quizzes: Assignments are missing or show no understanding of the material. Quizzes are consistently scored very low, indicating no grasp of concepts.
Group Work Assignment: No participation or contribution. The final project is missing or shows no understanding of the material.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

Grade 1
Exam: Demonstrates minimal understanding. Answers are mostly incorrect or incomplete.
Individual Assignments and Quizzes: Assignments are mostly incomplete or lack clarity. Quizzes show minimal understanding of concepts. Analysis is minimal or incorrect.
Group Work Assignment: Minimal participation and contribution. The final project is mostly incomplete or lacks clarity.

Grade 2
Exam: Shows a basic understanding but with significant gaps. Answers are incomplete or partially incorrect.
Individual Assignments and Quizzes: Assignments are incomplete or poorly organized. Quizzes show significant gaps in understanding. Analysis is weak or unsupported.
Group Work Assignment: Limited participation and contribution. The final project is incomplete or poorly organized.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Grade 5
Exam: Demonstrates a thorough understanding of strategic financial planning, financial statement analysis, investment evaluation, and the Balanced Scorecard. Answers are accurate, comprehensive, and show deep insight.
Individual Assignments and Quizzes: Assignments are complete, well-organized, and demonstrate a deep understanding of the material. Quizzes are consistently scored high, showing strong grasp of concepts. Analysis is insightful and well-supported.
Group Work Assignment: Actively participates and contributes significantly to the group. The final project is well-organized, comprehensive, and demonstrates a deep understanding of the material.
