Objective

After having completed the course youare able to name the most important infectious microbes and ways of getting infectedknow the factors influencing the origin of infections and the importance of hampering the transmission of microbes in the preventive interventionare aware of the preventive interventions at the hospital and in different environments for medical care and your personal responsibility.understand the importance of the guidelines, the surveillance and organised interventions of healthcare-associated infections for the channelling of preventive measures and the evaluation of their efficiencyunderstand the meaning of healthcare-associated infections to a person / patient, community and societyunderstand the importance of preanalytical factors and guidance for the production of reliable laboratory test resultsare able to take qualitative samples for a diagnostic sample researchare able to make the most usual point of care-testsknow the most usual diagnostic laboratory tests
