Teaching methods
The student is aware of the essential cultural factors that affect interpersonal communication and multicultural teamwork. S/he is able to adjust his/her speech and communication style, and accommodate his/her behaviour to converge with a multicultural group.
Basics of intercultural communication. Principles of group dynamics and teamwork.
Completion alternatives
The student who has accomplished an equivalent course in a higher education institution may apply for RPL (compensation) in Peppi. Before submitting the application, the student should contact the teacher in charge.

Content scheduling
The course includes lectures and reading of some literature. The theoretical knowledge will be assessed in a written exam. Additionally the course includes experiential learning in workshops and pair and small-group assignments. The workshops require active attendance. Additionally, a reflective learning diary (log) is required.

The student - understands the key concepts of intercultural communication and is able to apply them into practice through examples. - is aware of the factors that impact intercultural communication and collaboration and can take those factors into account in his/her behavior when working in intercultural teams during the workshops. - shows ability to adjust and adapt his/her communication style to be effective in diverse environments. - is aware of the layers and facets of his/her own social identities, including cultural identity
