Objective

- You know the basics of the methods of assessing, examining and measuring functional capacity.
- You know the basics of therapeutic exercise of different physical abilities.
- Know the basics of manual therapy methods.

Content

Part A: 1 ECTS
- Assessment of health status and health physical activity

Part B: 2 ECTS
- Assessment of endurance capacity and basics of therapeutic exercise

Part C: 4 ECTS
- Assessment of mobility and basics of therapeutic exercise
- Fundamentals of manual therapy (soft tissue and joint mobilisations)

Part D: 2 ECTS
- Assessment of postural and locomotor control and fundamentals of therapy (motor control, motor control, locomotor control, proprioception)
- Assessment of balance and basics of therapy

Part E: 2 ECTS
- Assessment of muscular function and strength and basics of therapeutic exercise

Further information

Previous studies:
Successful completion of approved previous studies is a prerequisite for participation in the course "Functional assessment and support in physiotherapy".

The following previous studies must have been completed:
- Developing and functioning human beings (11 ECTS): The student must have an approved assessment of the course before the start of the self-study week of the semester. If the student does not have an approved evaluation of the course, he/she will not be entitled to participate in the course after the self-study week of the semester.
- Multidisciplinary studies (HTT1, ASPA1, Fundamentals of Pharmacotherapy and Pharmacology).

Accomplishment methods

Course ASSESSMENT: 0 - 5.

The grade consists of three numerical components and four pass/fail components.
(Assessment: Pass - Fail).
2. completion and return of a health fitness test summary sheet (Assessment: Pass - Fail).
3. study and practice of endurance characteristics - completion and return of a workbook (Assessment: Pass - Fail)
4. case-client health exercise plan (Assessment: 0-5, weight 1/3)
5. CASE Report. Case client examination, therapy with soft tissue mobilisation techniques and record keeping (Assessment: 0-5, weighting 1/3).
6. practical exam (team exam) (Assessment: 0-5, weighting 1/3).
7. timetable for independent practice of skills in examination and treatment techniques. 30 hours. (Assessment: Pass - Fail)

Assessment: Successful completion of the assessed learning tasks.
ASSESSMENT = Average of 3/3 of the numerical learning tasks.

In addition, the course includes learning tasks (preliminary and in-depth assignments), the completion of which is a prerequisite for the award of a grade. Completion of the learning tasks within the agreed time frame is one of the criteria for the assessment of the course. If the assignments are not returned on time, the teacher has the right to reduce the student's grade in the overall assessment by one mark.
