Objective

Student:
- knows the fundamental principles and structure of computer systems, including components, responsibilties and tasks of central processing unit
- recognizes the development of computing devices
- is aware of the the basic principles of operating systems, and the current development trends
- recognizes different end user devices and their functionality
- knows the basic principles and structture of IT-infrastructure

Content

Basics of computer systems; components, responsibilities and tasks of central processing unit, computer memory and memory management, principles and functionality of operating systems; end user devices; basics and structure of IT-infrastructure. The course includes a self-learning component based on topics that extend the content covered during the course.

Execution methods

Online course.

Accomplishment methods

Online lectures 12 h, independent studying (learning activities) individually/pairs 100 h, exercise groups 12 h, online exam 3 h.
