Russian 3Laajuus (5 cr)

Objective

After completing the course, you will be able to communicate orally in basic work situations (see content). You will be familiar with the Russian communication style and apply it in their own speech. You will write short work-related messages not only by hand but also using the Russian keyboard. You can search for information on travel, fairs, products and companies in Russian.

Content

During the course, you will practice basic communication in working context, mainly orally:
- Telephone contacts, travel arrangements and travel (timetables, tickets, hotel, restaurant, shopping)
- Visits to trade fairs, company visits (as a host and guest)
- Talking about your working day, your tasks and your job

You will practise the structures needed in communicative situations, both orally and in writing:
- Verbs of motion with prefixes
- Reflexive verbs
- Inflection of nouns
- Adjectives and personal pronouns in the singular
- Verb tenses and aspect

You will also learn how to:
- Use the Russian keyboard,
- Write short work-related messages (invitation, itinerary and congratulatory message) and
- Use online resources for information retrieval and independent language learning.
