English (5cr)

Objective

The student knows the basic structures of English and how to use general technical English as well as masters the basic vocabulary in his field of study. He identifies the need for English in working life. The student can tell about himself and his studies in connection with the job application process and he is able to manage in everyday spoken situations. The student is able to present a product, service or simple process in his own field and knows how to communicate appropriately in customer service, both orally and in writing. The student can make and present spoken presentations and perceives the principles of reporting in English. He is able to interpret texts in his own field by using various resources.
