Objective

Internal Medicine, 1 cr.The student knows, how cost common internal diseases are to be diagnosed and treated.The student is able to use central medical information when treating a patient or a client.Geriatrics, 1 cr.The student understands, what ageing means to the health and physical ability.The student understands the significance of the prevention of geriatric health problems and illnessesThe student understands the responsability of heath care in the treatmentThe student is able to evaluate changes in the physical condtion and understands, which measures will be neccessaryThe student is able to prevent health problems caused by ageing and illness, lead the patient to appropriate examination, treatment and rehabilitationThe student is in the position of evaluate and carry out the effectiveness of the treatmentPharmacology, 1 cr.The student knows the most usual medicinal products used for the treatment of pain killing, heart disease, Riva-Rocci-, musculoskeletal diseases.The student is familiar with the risks and side-effects with the above mentioned drugs.Tye student internalises the basics of pharmakinetics and its terminology.The student is aware of the opportunities of physiotherapy tu recognise side-effects caused by the medication.
