Objective

You know the basics of safe intravenous medication and fluid therapy.
You are able to administer intravenous medication and fluids based on evidence-based practice.
You learn aseptic techniques and infection prevention in medication and fluid therapy.
You are familiar with the basic concepts of pharmacology.
You study the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the most common medications, their indications, mechanisms of action, and the most common side and adverse effects.
You can perform medication calculations without errors.

Content

Patient safety in intravenous medication and fluid therapy.
Planning, implementation, and evaluation of intravenous medication and fluid therapy.
Aseptic techniques and infection prevention.
Classification of high-risk medications.
Medication calculation (revision of previous topics and new topics such as preparing medication from solid substances and dilution).
Basic concepts of pharmacology.
Pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the most common medications, their indications, mechanisms of action, and the most common side and adverse effects.
