Objective

• Explain the importance of climate mitigation in the context of climate resilient health systems.
• Critically analyse own work environment for climate mitigation opportunities.
• Develop strategies for reducing carbon footprint within the own work environment.
• Describe the near-term health co-benefits for older persons that arise due to climate mitigation (and climate adaptation).
• Apply knowledge of climate mitigation and health co-benefits.

Content

This MC sensitizes students for climate mitigation opportunities in healthcare from outpatient to hospital settings. The main focus will be on strengthening their own sense of responsibility and agency for climate mitigation within their work environment. Students will also gain an understanding of the concept of health co-benefits in the context of climate-sensitive health communication with older persons to strengthen resilience and a sustainable lifestyle.
